Things to Know

Hotel

Our conference hotel is the Hilton Minneapolis, located at 1001 Marquette Avenue, South, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Amenities include a complimentary fitness center, indoor pool, 24-hour business center, concierge, and Baron’s Brew, serving Starbucks coffee. Check-in time is 3:00 pm, and check out is at noon.

Your NACM room rate, through January 24, 2012, is $139. Reservations can be made by calling (612) 376-1000 or registering online.

Ground Transportation

The Hilton Minneapolis is located 12 miles from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (http://www.mspairport.com/). The hotel does not offer airport transportation. You may reserve a shared ride service between the airport and the Hilton Minneapolis through SuperShuttle. Rates are $17 per person each way. The average taxi fare between the airport and the Hilton is $25 (one way).

Light rail service from the airport to the hotel is available. Trains stop at both terminals. Follow signs toward ground transportation. Route 55 services downtown and runs every 7.5 minutes during rush hours and 10-15 minutes at other times. Travel time is approximately 25 minutes and fares run between $1.75 and $2.25, depending on time of day. Disembark at the Nicollet Mall Station (5th Street & Nicollet), then take the “Free Nicollet Mall Bus” (http://metrotransit.org/ride-free-on-nicollet-mall.aspx) to the 11th Street stop (11th Street & Nicollet). Walk one block east to 11th and Marquette Avenue. Hotel is located on the corner of 11th Street and Marquette Avenue.

General Directions to the Hotel From Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (12 miles)
Take Highway 5 East to 62W to 35W North and follow “Downtown Exits.” Exit at 11th Street and stay in the right-hand lane. The Hilton is located on the corner of 11th Street and Marquette Avenue.

Hotel Parking

Self-parking is available in the city-owned parking deck located at 11th Street and 2nd Avenue for $13/day. Valet parking is $23/day.

Weather and Dress

Dress for the conference is business casual. Meeting room temperatures may vary, so it is advisable to bring a sweater or jacket to workshops. Minneapolis will be chilly in February, so come prepared!
